Facebook,whatsapp and Twitter are facing massive pressure to stop fake news during Indian general election-2019

I hope if the tech giant has learnt from the election in US and Brazil. The world's largest democracy prepares for general election, there is massive pressure on facebook to prevent spreading of misinformation in India , during general election 2019.Facebook has the biggest user or marketplace for user on messaging platform i,e,.whatsapp.There is also great pressure on facebook messaging platform whatsapp,to check misuse of the app ,attempting to sent rhemour in bulk.  

Why facebook need to be worried ?

It will not be so inappropriate to say that Facebook and facebook owned company Whatsapp are also candidates of upcoming general election 2019.For BJP the ruling party and congress ,whatsapp has become a tool to gain immediate attention of their supportive.While they do spread fake news ,they accuse each other of propagating fake news.

Election commision, the world largest democracy will rely on this brilliant smartphone app to elect its next leader.Multiple time each day ,whatsapp messages arguing for or against the PM, some clips are clearly made indication that political parties are behind their creation,while some are cleverly sliced to convey their message that are understandable by the commoner.

Facebook said that in upcoming weeks people will manage pages with a large audience in India will need to secure the account with four Factor authentication and consume their primary country location to be able to continue to post in their page.

The enforcement of the new  features and the political ads policy will begin from February 21 am from then only advertisers who have completed authorisation and made stipulated disclosure will be allowed to the political ads in India.,said the social media giant Facebook.

How Facebook seem helpless?

 to some extent Facebook can control the nature and stabilize the ownership of the content on its nameshake  platform. but the Messenger it got in 2014 for a whooping $18 billion is difficult to handle. WhatsApp was never create to get tool to influence election but it is excellent itself effective to anyone who want to skirt election law. WhatsApp is the main medium of election propaganda this time, all the above rules of election governance have been completely thrown out of the window.  its founder wanted to exit no control over its user whatsoever, when WhatsApp was built. it did not want to be held legally liable for the action of its uses it's simply linked to a person's mobile number.

A person can have multiple WhatsApp account if a person has multiple mobile number. Intas not required any other way to verify the account for the new user but only  through the OTP. simple to use and simpler to abuse. One more things that give the numbers is retired forever by the mobile phone company for some reason, the user can still continue to use WhatsApp using Wi-Fi or other sim card. without the app ever knowing about, you move and can continue to use WhatsApp.  however WhatsApp does not even have to run on mobile phone it can just as well on a tablet or a PC long after the user no longer has access to the original phone number. WhatsApp does not know anything about the thousand of GBs of data at daily send through it server at fast speed everyday. it does not operate any Cloud Service to store the billion of message which are pushed through its platform. if user so Desire they can choose to backup the content to an external Cloud Service not operated by WhatsApp such as their Google drive or iCloud account through which the WhatsApp has no access.
